I cannot teach anybody anything,
I can only make them think.
- Socrates
Knowing is not
enough; we must apply. Willing is not enough; we must do. - Goethe
An
organization's ability to learn, and translate that learning into
action rapidly, is the ultimate competitive advantage.
- Jack Welch
I never teach my
pupils; I only attempt to provide the conditions in which they can
learn.
- Albert Einstein
There is more in
us than we know. If we can be made to see it, perhaps, for the rest
of our lives we will be unwilling to settle for less. - Kurt Hahn
Expeditionary
Learning can greatly contribute towards building strength of
character. Joseph Conrad in Lord Jim tells us that it is necessary
for a youth to experience events which "reveal the inner worth of
the man; the edge of his temper; the fiber of his stuff; the quality
of his resistance; the secret truth of his pretences, not only to
himself but others."
